{hearts} by Jessica

06/26/2010

Another stunning flickr find! People sometimes describe my papercut hearts as intricate, but they’re really quite simple compared to this beauty. Have you ever made a heart out of scrolled paper strips? I remember making those as a kid (in their most basic version). This heart is made of many tiny connected scrolls  filling up its inside adding so many beautiful details & dimensions.

While I love the design of the heart & the detailed hand work that went into creating it, it was Jessica’s beautiful images that caught my eye. A play with light – sun catching and shadow casting. My favorite shot is the one against wood background, but I appreciate it because of the other four daytime colorful outdoor captures. Click on the image above to view Jessica’s entire {hearts} set on flickr including another stunning creation called “broken heart”.

& here is a neat quilling basics tutorial if you wanted to give this sweet craft a try!
