{Silhouettes} The Classic Papercuts

My husband & I celebrated our anniversary this weekend. We visited Victoria, B.C. & exchanged sweet gifts. Among them was a pair of black paper-cut silhouettes I made:

Silhouettes are classic – a family heirloom. I think they are making a come-back! I’m seeing a lot of them on etsy lately {this new take on this classic is my favorite!}. I love their simplicity and the fact that they are so personal. Before mounting our silhouettes cutouts I couldn’t resist a little make-out photo sessio n:

For now we have two displayed on our credenza in the dining room. In the future we hope to add a baby silhouette. But for now we’re happy to be a three-year-old family of two + a six-year-old lab chow.
